Public Affairs & Mass Communication Expert | Trauma-Informed Advocate

Nichelle Noelle Bishop is a U.S. Navy veteran, Public Affairs and Mass Communication expert, and the founder of a trauma-informed nonprofit committed to healing, defending, and uplifting those who have experienced violence, systemic injustice, and generational trauma.
Nichelle was trained at the Department of Defense’s prestigious Defense Information School (DINFOS)—a joint service institution that prepares U.S. military members in journalism, visual storytelling, crisis communication, and strategic public affairs. Her career took her aboard the USS Nimitz (CVN 68), where she deployed globally and told the stories of sailors and missions with clarity, compassion, and strength under pressure.
But behind the uniform and camera was a young woman who had already endured more than many face in a lifetime. As a child, Nichelle experienced homelessness, domestic violence, and the trauma of parental addiction, sleeping in overcrowded shelters and standing in food lines while trying to find stability in a world that felt unsafe. She is also a survivor of sexual assault and rape, and has personally intervened to stop sexual violence from happening to others. These lived experiences—raw and real—shape the heart of everything she builds today.
Diagnosed with Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD) by the Department of Veterans Affairs, Nichelle turned her pain into purpose. She now works closely with trauma survivors, victims of domestic abuse, veterans, LGBTQ2+ individuals, underserved youth, and those in economically oppressed communities—because she has been in their shoes. She knows the fear, the shame, and the loneliness. She also knows the fire that refuses to go out.
A lifelong advocate of empowerment through skill and discipline, Nichelle has trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for over five years and dedicating herself to both mental and physical recovery. She actively trains in firearms familiarization, home defense, and personal protection alongside former special forces operators, integrating advanced combatives and trauma-informed defense into her daily life. She is partnering with self-defense and veteran-owned organizations to sponsor similar training for survivors, especially women, BIPOC, and those rebuilding their lives after violence.
Nichelle is deeply intuitive, empathetic, and values-driven, embodying the strengths of an INFJ—the rare "Advocate" personality type, known for its fierce sense of justice, emotional intelligence, and vision-driven leadership. Her worldview is shaped by global travel, intercultural connection, and firsthand exposure to both beauty and brutality.
Through her nonprofit and media company, Nichelle uses storytelling, art, and advocacy to interrupt cycles of trauma and ignite personal transformation. Her mission is not just to speak for the voiceless—but to hand them the microphone, teach them how to fight, and help them reclaim the power that was always theirs.
